Food Transportation & Distribution

When food business owners, suppliers and distributors delivering the food products to customers, there are a few concerns about transportation :

🚚a. Vehicle should be suitable and specially designed for transporting food only.  No non-food stuff is allowed to be put in the vehicle. This is to avoid cross contamination to the food.

🚛b. Vehicles and the place of keeping food should be cleaned frequently.  Delivered food will be contaminated when the vehicle is dirty.

🚙c. Container that keeping food should be enclosed to avoid contamination, by ash, smoke, bacteria, virus etc  from the air.

🛵d. Posses temperature control when distributing frozen or cool foods.  eg. the refer container.  If the frozen food is not cooled during the delivery, it will effect the shelf live of the products. Besides, if the cool food is not cooled enough, there will be bacteria growth on the food every 20 minutes (according to the scientist).

🚗e. Products should be arranged properly in the vehicles so that it will not deteriorate, tented etc.  For instance, frozen products in cartons should be loaded in a cool environment so that the cartons will not wet and sticking each other, which will be torn after unloading from container, when it reach destination.

Proper transportation of food will help maintaining the food quality.  Food business owner should think about this matter when they have to deliver the food.
